In a continued effort by the State of Iowa to help jumpstart entrepreneurship and small business, the state is now running a pretty cool new loan program called the Iowa Small Business Loan Program. For those of you having trouble getting funding for an idea you've got, this could be the elixir. If you're looking to buy new equipment, find ways to make what you are doing more efficient, or leverage other financing sources, this could be a great way to go. ISBL will do loans up to 50k at some pretty sweet rates- in the range of 2-3.9%.
As the program suggests, you need to be an Iowan and you need to have fewer than 35 employees. Thats about it.
Its good to see a little love coming the way of small biz lately. Between this program, IowaMicroLoan, and of course Dream Big Grow Here- there aregetting to be more avenues all the time for start up funding out there in the state of Iowa.
So if you think your Dream has some legs, don't let financing be your hurdle. Look around and you'll discover there are more options out there than you think.
UPDATE: Watch Recorded Webinar with Jason Yates, the ISBL Program Administrator as he answers questions from a live audience and shares more of the requirements of the program.*
